Director Lance Mungia and producer Jeffrey Mishlove bring decades of filmmaking and parapsychological research to the documented case of Ted Owens.
Support the filmBorn in Central California in 1972, Lance Mungia studied at Loyola Marymount. His short A Garden for Rio helped fund Six-String Samurai (1998). He later directed The Crow: Wicked Prayer (2005) and Third Eye Spies (2018), a documentary centered on Russell Targ and the history of remote-viewing research.
Mungia also served as a producer on the UFO documentaries The Phenomenon and The Program. He co-founded Waking Universe Films with Cristina Mercado. For PK MAN, he works from archived correspondence, sworn witness affidavits, remastered audio interviews and dramatic re-enactments.
Jeffrey Mishlove, PhD, was born in 1946. In 1980, he received from UC Berkeley what remains the only accredited doctoral diploma in parapsychology awarded in the United States. He wrote The Roots of Consciousness in 1975, hosted Thinking Allowed from 1986 to 2002 and now hosts New Thinking Allowed.
Mishlove investigated Owens as part of his doctoral work. In 2000, he published The PK Man: A True Story of Mind Over Matter, with a foreword by John E. Mack. The film draws on that research and on the documented record Owens left behind.
